Rabbi Daniel Lehmann is the 8th president of the Graduate Theological Union.  He previously served as the president of Hebrew College in Newton, MA, was the founding Headmaster of Gann Academy (the new Jewish high school of Greater Boston) and board chair of the Boston Theological Institute. Together with Rabbi Donniel Hartman of the Shalom Hartman Institute, Daniel founded the Hevruta gap-year program in Israel.  In 2004, Daniel founded and directed the Berkshire Institute of Music and Arts - now BIMA - at Brandeis University.  Daniel received the Covenant Award for Excellence in Jewish Education as well as the Dr. Benjamin Shevach Award for Jewish Educational Leadership from Hebrew College.  He has written extensively on Jewish education, pluralism, inter-religious learning and leadership, and Jewish theology.
