Alissa Hirshfeld-Flores, MFT, is a psychotherapist, former hospice bereavement coordinator, spiritual director and freelance blogger.  She was a consultant for the Pixar movie "Up."  Her first book is a memoir, "This Whole Wide World is Just a Narrow Bridge", based on her experience as a hospice worker going through the death of her mother, birth of her daughter and her own near-death experience.  Her second book, "Living Waters", is a coming-of-age novel, set at a New Age commune, that blends themes of spiritual searching, the paranormal, family, friendship, loss and grief, forgiveness and faith.  She is a co-editor and contributor to an anthology about the responses of women, from different cultural, religious and ethnic backgrounds and different sexual orientations, to President Trump entitled, "Fury: Women's Lived Experiences during the Age of Trump", to be published by Pact Press, a division of Regal Publishing House, in May 2020.  She blogs at http://www.citizentherapist.com.
